第1句
First of all, let’s make a rollcall before we put the draft resolution to vote.
讓我們首先點(diǎn)點(diǎn)名，然后我們把決議付諸表決。
這里的“before”就翻譯成“然后”，這樣就不用改變?cè)涞恼Z(yǔ)序了。
第2句
We should discuss the problem at hand in detail after we had our dinner.

這里的“after”就翻成“在那以前”，這樣我們也不用改變?cè)涞恼Z(yǔ)序。所以有人戲稱同傳就是把before譯成after，把a(bǔ)fter譯成before。
第3句
My delegation commends the international community for its contribution in searching for solutions to the problems of terrorism and conflict in Africa.
我國(guó)代表團(tuán)贊揚(yáng)國(guó)際社會(huì)積極致力于尋求解決非洲恐怖主義和沖突問題的辦法。
“contribution, searching, solution”都是名詞，翻譯時(shí)都變成動(dòng)詞“積極致力于、尋求、解決”。英語(yǔ)的名詞變成中文的動(dòng)詞，這樣—來很多句子都可以順下來。請(qǐng)大家記住，同傳的要領(lǐng)就是盡量不要改變語(yǔ)序，能夠順著來就順著來，這樣就能省下不少精力，這些精力可以放在最最難對(duì)付的問題上。
第4句
The UN is an indispensable vehicle for the preservation of civilization in the interest of all nations of the world.
聯(lián)合國(guó)是一個(gè)不可缺少的工具，以維護(hù)文明，造福于各國(guó)人民。
把介詞短語(yǔ)“in the interest of”變成動(dòng)詞“造福于”。
第5句
In this regard, we support the movement towards renewal and restructuring away from the static stereotypes of the past.
在這方面，我們支持進(jìn)行更新和改組，擺脫過去那些僵硬的一成不變的做法。
“movement”及“away from”分別變成了動(dòng)詞“進(jìn)行”和“擺脫”，避免了原句語(yǔ)序的改變。
第6句
I believe this can contribute to (have a positive impact on) the fixture relations between the developed and the developing countries.
我認(rèn)為這將有助于(積極影響)今后發(fā)展中國(guó)家與發(fā)達(dá)國(guó)家的關(guān)系。
第7句
Well, today in China, the reality of more small enterprises doing a thriving business, more families profiting from their own hard work and the bigger harvests they produce, and more investment in science and technology points to more opportunity for all.
這句話取自羅納德·里根訪問中國(guó)時(shí)發(fā)表的講話。假如你是一名同聲傳譯，當(dāng)他講到 “Well, today in China, the reality of more small enterprises doing a thriving business”你就得開口了，不能再等。這個(gè)短語(yǔ)到目前為止意義已比較明顯，所以你可以把它變成一個(gè)句子，放心地翻譯為“今天中國(guó)很多小企業(yè)生意興旺”。然后他繼續(xù)講“more families profiting from their own hardwork...”，于是又可以變成一個(gè)句子，翻譯為“越來越多的家庭勤勞致富……”。然后他講“points to more opportunity for all”，你還記得腦里存著的“the relation of”，可以概括一下，用“所有這一切”從而很好地結(jié)束這句話，所有這—切說明更多的人有更多的機(jī)會(huì)。這句話筆譯是需要仔細(xì)琢磨的，需要思考怎么調(diào)整語(yǔ)序，而同傳逼得你一定要一邊聽一邊解決難點(diǎn)。
第8句
We noted the secretary general’s view that any sizable of reduction of the peacekeeping force would be inadvisable at this stage.
我們注意到秘書長(zhǎng)的觀點(diǎn)，他認(rèn)為現(xiàn)在要大大削減維和部隊(duì)是不合適的。
同傳需要句子簡(jiǎn)潔，不能啰嗦，在翻譯“that”引導(dǎo)的從句時(shí)直接變成“他認(rèn)為”，使譯文顯得干凈利索。
第9句
We have all noted the secretary general’s report on the increasingly perilous state of financing.
我們都已經(jīng)注意到秘書長(zhǎng)的報(bào)告說財(cái)政情況日益拮據(jù)。
